Keith Hanson is an American actor and writer best known publicly for his relationship with Criminal Minds actress Kirsten Vangsness. The couple became engaged in November 2015, although their current relationship status has not been publicly confirmed.
Hanson has kept most of his personal life away from the spotlight. Unlike Vangsness, who has maintained a long-running television career, he has only a small number of documented screen credits available through major entertainment databases. IMDb lists him as an actor associated with Cowbois Ac Injans and the short film Killing Time.
The strongest public information about Hanson concerns his engagement to Vangsness. Contemporary reports from PEOPLE, E! News and Paramount confirmed the engagement and identified him as an actor and writer. More recent PEOPLE coverage in May 2026 says Vangsness has kept her personal life private and has not publicly clarified whether she and Hanson ever married.

Keith Hanson and Kirsten Vangsness
Hanson became widely known after his relationship with Kirsten Vangsness, the actress who played Penelope Garcia on Criminal Minds.
In November 2015, PEOPLE reported that Vangsness was engaged to Hanson, describing him as an actor and writer. Hanson reportedly proposed at the Redbury Hotel in Hollywood in front of family and friends. E! News independently reported the engagement and said the proposal took place roughly two weeks before the announcement.
Vangsness spoke warmly about Hanson at the time. In comments reported by PEOPLE, she described him as the perfect partner for her and said that they felt they were evolving together.
Paramount’s Criminal Minds website also confirmed the engagement on November 23, 2015, identifying Hanson as Vangsness’ actor/writer fiancé.
The engagement attracted attention partly because Vangsness had previously been engaged to Melanie Goldstein, a film and television editor. Vangsness had spoken publicly about that earlier relationship before becoming engaged to Hanson.
Did Keith Hanson and Kirsten Vangsness Get Married?
There is no reliable public confirmation that Keith Hanson and Kirsten Vangsness married.
The engagement itself is well documented. What happened afterward is considerably less clear because Vangsness has kept her private life largely out of the public eye.
That distinction matters because several websites continue to describe Hanson as Vangsness’ husband or current partner without providing evidence of a wedding. More recent reporting from PEOPLE takes a more cautious position: its May 2026 coverage states that Vangsness has not publicly revealed whether she and Hanson ever married and notes that the two have not been seen together publicly in a number of years.
For that reason, describing Hanson as her husband would go beyond what the available evidence establishes. The documented description is that he was her fiancé following their 2015 engagement.
Keith Hanson’s Acting Career
Hanson’s professional acting record is relatively limited in publicly accessible databases.
IMDb lists Keith Hanson as an actor and credits him with appearances in Cowbois Ac Injans and Killing Time.
The Cowbois Ac Injans database listing identifies Hanson as Heddwas in the series. IMDb’s production information also connects him to the project.
He is also credited in Killing Time, a 2012 production, where he played an office worker.
Beyond those documented credits, there is not enough high-quality public information to construct a detailed acting résumé. Claims about extensive filmographies, major awards or prominent writing projects should therefore be treated cautiously unless supported by direct industry records.
Does Keith Hanson Have a Public Biography?
Not in the same depth as many actors connected to major television shows.
Much of the information that appears online about Hanson is actually information about his relationship with Vangsness. The 2015 engagement generated substantial entertainment coverage, while his own biography remained comparatively private.
His IMDb profile provides professional information but does not establish a detailed personal biography.
There is also a separate Keith Hanson who was a professional ice hockey defenseman and played 25 NHL games for the Calgary Flames during the 1983–84 season. That former NHL player was born in Ada, Minnesota, in 1957 and should not be confused with the actor/writer associated with Vangsness.
This distinction is important because searches for “Keith Hanson” can return information belonging to several different people.
Keith Hanson Age and Birth Date
Keith Hanson’s exact birth date and age have not been reliably established by the major sources reviewed for this profile.
Some biography and celebrity websites publish personal details about him, but the information is not consistently supported by authoritative records. Without a reliable source such as an official biography, verified interview or reputable publication confirming his date of birth, it is better to leave his age unspecified.
This also explains why estimates of his age or claims about his childhood and education should not be treated as confirmed biography.
What Is Keith Hanson Doing Now?
Keith Hanson’s current professional activities are not well documented in major public sources.
The most recent reliable coverage mentioning him focuses on his historical relationship with Vangsness rather than a new acting or writing project. PEOPLE’s 2026 coverage continues to identify the 2015 engagement but says Vangsness has not provided a public update on the relationship.
There is therefore no strong evidence to support claims about his current occupation, residence, marriage, family life or upcoming projects.
That limited public footprint appears consistent with the broader pattern of Hanson’s career: he has had documented involvement in acting, but he has not maintained the same level of public exposure as his former high-profile partner.
Keith Hanson Net Worth
A verified figure for Keith Hanson’s net worth is not publicly available.
Celebrity websites sometimes publish estimated net worth figures for people with limited public financial information. Such numbers are usually based on assumptions rather than documented tax records, contracts, assets or financial statements.
Because there is no credible source establishing Hanson’s income, property holdings or total assets, a specific net-worth figure would be speculative.
